FAQ
Quick answers
The essentials on the Trustpilot plugin.
Do I need a Trustpilot Business account?
Not necessarily. Manual mode needs no Trustpilot access at all; only API mode requires a Business account.
Is the plugin GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Manual mode stores all data locally – without external requests. In API mode the data is fetched and cached on the server, never directly from your visitors' browsers.
Does the plugin work with my theme?
Yes. The layouts adapt to the theme, support dark mode and work with Gutenberg, Elementor and any page builder that supports shortcodes.
How does the plugin affect loading times?
Hardly at all. In API mode, WP-Cron updates the Trustpilot data in the background – page views only read the cache. In manual mode there is no external request at all.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The free version shows the overall rating and reviews as tiles and works in manual mode via shortcode. Premium adds API mode, more layouts such as carousel and masonry, the trust badge, dark mode, Gutenberg blocks, Elementor widgets and automatic updates, among other things.
Is the plugin also available for Google reviews?
In progress: Ayonto Google Rating uses the same foundation – with API and manual modes.
